Check out the latest webcam offering from USBgeek. Although the cam looks pretty cool, its functionallity isn’t great, with only a VGA camera to provide telepresence. As far as robotics goes the little beast is pretty limited too, its only function appears to be a couple of lights that come on automatically in darkness. Still, not bad for $24.

Philips and Intel would be developing a portable tablet computer designed to accomodate medics’ need for watching over patients and sending data through their main computers in realtime. The tablet is 10.4 inches with a 1024 x 768 touch-screen resolution display. More information says that it has Bluetooth capabilities which runs through a Wi-Fi connection. Digital cameras to take pictures of patients and other important medical related snapshots are also expected to be in this nifty PDA.

Initially used to print 2×3 inch color pictures. With the new technology it features ink will no longer be necessary. This technoloy heat up the special pieces of paper, and the different temperatures will create different colors. Costing $99 standalone format or as a $199 camera/printer hybrid, while the snazzy paper will run you $19.95 for a pack of one hundred. Whether or not the quality will be good is something I’m quite excited to see.

This FlapCam is a creative idea to both reduce the amount of space it will take up, but also and more importantly will allow you to protect your lense and your LCD screen at all times. Although not yet announced whether it will go into production, it looks like it has a very good chance.

This new Canon camera planned to be unveiled at the PhotoPlus Expo 2007 in October 2007 will be a 22 megapixel camera.

Sony’s new HD camcorder, the HDR-UX5 (shown $1000), can record directly to DvDs. Now you don’t have to hassle with converting your footage to a DvD, but there is one catch. The catch is that these discs are only playable on Blu-ray players or PCs. Not a big deal if you have a Blu-ray player or don’t mind watching you footage on a PC monitor. Personally I would like it if i could pop it right into my DvD player.
