FCC LogoThe FCC is asking for peoples’ help in deciding whether or not to grant a petition. cNET’s News.com has reported that in response to a petition sent to the FCC by many advocacy groups that support net neutrality, the FCC is open for comments, no matter which side you are on. They are accepting comments until February the 13th. After the review of the comments, the FCC is expected to decide about whether or not to grant the petitioners’ request and consider degrading P2P traffic illegal.

Although, the FCC says it is intent on enforcing its principles, they haven’t outlined any sort of punishment that could be dealt to companies like Comcast and Verizon. Comcast allegedly degrades P2P traffic, while Verizon initially refused to send text messages from a certain activist group. All they have to say is the standard, “No comment.”
