Researchers from MIT have developed a new passenger jet, thats no louder then a washing machine. Although the plan had started in 2003 the concept has just been released, and is about the size of a Boeing 767. So how is this plane so quite? Well, the researchers have placed the jet engines behind the hull of the jet instead of the wings. By doing this, the air from the top of the wing actually silences the engine. This could be a major breakthrough because new airports could eventually be located closer to the city. This design should start taking place near the year 2030.
